Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Mountain Room Recovery Circuit?

The Mountain Room is a dedicated recovery space designed to help your body reset, recharge, and recover through a combination of complementary therapies. Sessions may include infrared sauna, cold plunge therapy, red light therapy, BioMat®, vibration therapy, and relaxation in the zero-gravity massage chair.

Alternating heat and cold exposure, known as “contrast therapy,” stimulates circulation by causing blood vessels to expand and contract, creating a natural “pumping” effect in the body. This can support recovery, reduce muscle soreness and inflammation, and leave the body feeling refreshed and energized.

Do I need to follow a specific circuit or order?

No. Sessions are flexible and self-guided. Many guests follow a heat–cold–recovery sequence (sauna, cold plunge, then relaxation therapies), but the timing and order can be adjusted based on your comfort and goals.

How long should I stay in the sauna or cold plunge?

Most guests spend 10–20 minutes in the sauna and 1–2 minutes in the cold plunge, but timing can vary based on comfort and experience level. Our team can help guide you if you’re unsure what approach is best.

Do you have a shower?

Yes. Guests are asked to rinse in our rain shower, “The Waterfall,” before using the cold plunge, and are welcome to use it before or after other services such as using the sauna or massage therapy.

The rain shower provides a wide, even flow of water that mimics the sensation of standing under natural rainfall, creating a relaxing, spa-like experience.

What should I wear in the Mountain Room?

Wear whatever feels comfortable. Most guests wear athletic shorts, a swimsuit, or similar lightweight clothing when using the sauna and cold plunge.

If you plan to use the rain shower or continue with other services afterward, you may wish to bring a change of clothes.

Can I move between therapies during my session?

Yes. Your session provides access to the full Mountain Room circuit during your scheduled time, so you’re free to move between therapies as you like.

Is the Mountain Room private?

The Mountain Room is designed to comfortably accommodate up to two guests at a time. Booking a couples session reserves the room privately for just the two of you.

If you are visiting alone and would like the room reserved exclusively for yourself, you can simply book your session at the couples rate.

How often should I use recovery therapies like sauna and cold plunge?

That depends on your goals. Some guests visit occasionally for relaxation, while others incorporate recovery sessions into their weekly wellness routine to support circulation, stress reduction, and muscle recovery.

Is cold plunge therapy safe for beginners?

Yes. Most first-time guests begin with short immersions of about 30–60 seconds and gradually build tolerance over time. You’re always encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable.

Are there any medical conditions that would prevent me from using the Mountain Room?

People with certain cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or other medical concerns should consult with their physician before using heat or cold therapies. If you have questions, our care team is happy to help guide you.

Can I combine the Mountain Room with chiropractic care or massage therapy?

Yes. Many patients use the Mountain Room before or after chiropractic adjustments, physical medicine treatments, or massage therapy to support recovery, circulation, and relaxation.

Should I book a 30, 60, or 90 minute session?

A 30-minute Basecamp session works well for a quick recovery reset. A 60-minute Ascent session allows time to experience multiple therapies comfortably. The 90-minute Summit session provides the most flexibility for a full heat–cold–recovery circuit.
